New Grocery Movement, the U of A Campus Food Bank, and the John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights are teaming up to host an election panel. We invite you to join the discussion on food security ahead of Canada's next federal election set for April 28th.
With 1 in 4 Canadians going hungry, the ongoing threat of tariffs from our biggest trading partner, exploitative grocery and agri-business corporations, and an increasing interest in supporting local options, food has never been more at the forefront in an election. In order to make an informed vote, you deserve to know where your candidate stands on the future of food in this country.
Candidates will be joining us to answer your questions on what they're doing to support food security and local food. After brief introductions, we will be asking the panel a series of food-focused questions, before turning the mic over to you. We invite you to bring your hardest-hitting food questions to ensure you're voting for a candidate that has your interests in mind. This one's not just for the foodies! It's for every citizen who's voting for a better food future.
